LEVEL 4 / POST 8: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Hello everyone, today I will talk about the changes that I would like to make to my study program.

Well, I am currently studying forestry engineering at the University of Chile and so far I think there are several things that should be modified, first I will start with the changes that I would make to the curriculum, I think one of the most important things that should be changed about this The topic is the subject that is taught and the authors that are studied, since things are passed on by authors so old that they are not currently used, being obsolete. In addition, within the career there are many academics who are not professors by profession, and although they are forestry engineers and know a lot about the field, they do not have teaching practices and that hurts us as students, so I think there should be a course teaching staff to teach them teaching practices.

In addition, it would modify the academic load of the career, since we have to take a large number of subjects per semester, in addition to the electives, so the times are not enough with all the evaluations and work that must be done.

Finally, I think it is very important to change the buses with which we are going to practice, because they are already very old and most have their seats broken, also they always have problems and we get stranded on the road (very sad, but hey, it's part of the adventure haha).

POST 7 (WEEK 9): SUMMER HOLIDAYS

Hello everyone, today I will talk about the plans I have for this vacation.

I'm really very tired of being locked up at home, although last month I finally had the chance to go to the beach, I would love to be able to spend more time outside my house, visiting many places (covid I hate you), that's why for this vacation (if everything goes well) I have planned to go to Puerto Montt with my boyfriend and my friends to visit one of my best friends who left Santiago a year ago.

Being there I would like to travel with more time all the places we visited when I went to practice 2 in frutillar, I would love to be able to return to the Puyehue National Park,  Llanquihue National Reserve,  Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, and many more places because when we went as a practice, I feel that I could not take advantage of being able to be there, because we had to be more attentive to the things that were useful to us so that later we could do the tasks, also when we were in Puyehue it started to rain very hard and we could not around the place very sad.

After this I would like to go backpacking until I get to Curacautín, which is where my family vacation, so I can spend a few days with them and obviously to go to Conguillio National Park, which is one of my favorite places, I think a summer without going for there it would be a lost summer.

POST 6 (WEEK 8): POST GRADUATE STUDIES.

Hi, today I will talk to you about the studies I want to study in the future

Well, right now I´m not very informed about the existing postgraduate courses related to the career I am currently pursuing (forestry engineering), because my priority is to finish the undergraduate degree first and in truth I had never thought about continuing to study after finishing the undergraduate degree 😅 .

I would like to be able to specialize much more on topics related to the conservation of natural resources and fauna, as well as I would like to do some courses related to climate change and its effects on the environment, in order to learn how these effects could mitigated, because I think they are very relevant issues for the future.

If I had the possibility of being able to do these courses abroad, I would not think about it for a second and I would leave Chile, but not to escape, otherwise I would like to be able to go to other countries to learn about forests. and environmental policies that are implemented there (which are surely better than those of Chile hahahaha), to perhaps be able to implement these operations in Chile and improve current policies (it costs nothing to dream uwu).

I would like to be able to take the courses full-time, but unfortunately you cost a lot of money, so I think the best option is to study the course part-time, in order to work and pay for my studies.
